The Academy Film Archive preserved the entire Apu Trilogy in 1996, including Apur Sansar. In 2013, the video distribution company The Criterion Collection, in collaboration with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Film Archive, began the restoration of the original negatives of the Apu trilogy, including Apur Sansar.

Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay (listen ⓘ; 12 September 1894 – 1 November 1950) [1] was an Indian writer in the Bengali language. [2] [3] His best known works are the autobiographical novel Pather Panchali (Song of the Little Road), Aparajito (Undefeated), Chander Pahar (Mountain of the Moon) and Aranyak (of the forest).
This was immensely popular in Sri Lanka and was followed by the translations of the other two books of the Apu trilogy by the same translator. Pather Panchali was translated into Malayalam under the name, Pather Panchali - Paathayuday Sangeetham by Mr M. K. N. Potty, which was first published in April 2009 by Green Books Pvt Ltd., Trichur, Kerala.
