The Stratford Festival is a theatre festival which runs from April to October in the city of Stratford, Ontario, Canada. [1] Founded by local journalist Tom Patterson in 1952, the festival was formerly known as the Stratford Shakespearean Festival , the Shakespeare Festival and the Stratford Shakespeare Festival .
The Canterbury A&P Association was formed a few weeks later on 23 January 1863, with Robert Wilkin as its first president. [1] In April 1863, the A&P Association purchased 14 acres (5.7 ha) in Colombo Street South for show grounds; this is now Sydenham Park. [1] In November 1887, new show grounds opened in Addington. [2] [3]
Field days typically do not involve livestock, show bags or sideshows, but may include events such as ploughing competitions not usually associated with shows due to the larger space required. In some communities in northern England Field Days (or Club Days ) have lost their agricultural character and have become community celebrations.

It was first held in 1843 and since then has included agricultural events, art exhibitions, live entertainment, sporting events, rides, sideshows, a marketplace and circuses. [1] The show is held at the Epsom Showgrounds in Epsom. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in New Zealand, the show was not held in 2020 or 2021.
2006 Royal Bath and West Show. The Royal Bath and West is an agricultural show for the West of England. Held every year at its permanent show ground near Shepton Mallet, Somerset, it is one of a number of County shows in the United Kingdom and is a four-day show.
Torrential rains left the showground saturated and police and show organisers took the decision to close the show a day ahead of schedule "to ensure the safety and welfare of the public, traders and exhibitors". Two of the showground's car parks were closed on Monday evening after drivers had to be towed free.
