Diplodocus (/ d ɪ ˈ p l ɒ d ə k ə s /, [3] [4] / d aɪ ˈ p l ɒ d ə k ə s /, [4] or / ˌ d ɪ p l oʊ ˈ d oʊ k ə s / [3]) is an extinct genus of diplodocid sauropod dinosaurs known from the Late Jurassic of North America.
