Palm Springs Surf Club officially opened as Oasis Water Park by Waterpark Associates in 1986. [4] By 2001, Oasis Water Park spanned 16 acres (6.5 ha) of a 21-acre (8.5 ha) property, featured 20 attractions and had a seasonal attendance of 200,000 people. As early as 1912, the Niles Sand and Gravel Company operated a gravel plant along the south bank of Alameda Creek in Niles, processing gravel and sand from the river bed for concrete production. [1] In 1954, the company expanded into the area now in the park, acquiring an operation previously managed by Black Point Aggregates. [ 2 ]
