The Murowa diamond mine is a diamond mine located in Mazvihwa, south central Zimbabwe, about 40 kilometres from the asbestos mining town of Zvishavane in the Midlands province. The mine is owned and operated by RZM Murowa (Private) Limited, a member of RioZim (a Zimbabwe listed company). [ 1 ]

Zvishavane District is home of Zvishavane Town which developed from an asbestos mine compound into a town. [2] See Shabanie Mashaba Mine. It is also home to Murowa Diamond Mine located in Mazvihwa, 40 km from Zvishavane Town.
Growth was slow due to poor communications until the railway reached the town in 1928. Although the asbestos mine is the biggest producer of the mineral in Zvishavane, platinum, gold, beryl, chromite, iron ore at Buchwa and huge deposits of diamond at Murowa are also mined in the area. [3]
