Lake Tomah and Lemonweir River at the bottom Lemonweir River in Mauston, Wisconsin. The Lemonweir River is a river in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. [1]It is a tributary of the Wisconsin River [2] as the Lemonweir River originates near Tomah in Monroe County and flows into Juneau County through New Lisbon and Mauston before converging into the Wisconsin River.
WIS 21 crosses US Highway 12 (US 12) and Interstate 94 (I-94) on the north side of Tomah. The highway continues east from there to junction with WIS 173 west of Wyeville and then crosses into Juneau County. [3] WIS 21 passes through the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge during its 12-mile (19 km) stretch of straight route to Necedah.
The Tomah Subdivision or Tomah Sub is a railway line that runs about 103 miles (166 km) from La Crosse, WI in the west to Portage, WI in the east. The line is operated by Canadian Pacific Kansas City through its subsidiary, the Soo Line Railroad. The line crosses the Mississippi River between La Crescent, MN and La Crosse.
Tomah is located on the South Fork of the Lemonweir River, [17] a main tributary of the Lemonweir River, which is a large tributary of the lower Wisconsin River.The river is impounded on the west side of the city, forming Lake Tomah.
U.S. Highway 12 (US 12 or Highway 12) in the U.S. state of Wisconsin runs east–west across the western to southeast portions of the state. It enters from Minnesota running concurrently with Interstate 94 (I-94) at Hudson, parallels the Interstate to Wisconsin Dells, and provides local access to cities such as Menomonie, Eau Claire, Black River Falls, Tomah, and Mauston.
The bridge is located over the west channel of the Mississippi River near Shore Acres and links to Minnesota Island. The La Crosse Rail Bridge itself is located entirely on the Minnesota side of the river and is 1,050 feet, 11 inches long. A second bridge connects Minnesota Island to the Wisconsin shore across the Black River.
