The second game in the Kengo series was released for the PlayStation 2 in Japan on June 27, 2002. It was released in Europe on February 14, 2003 under the title Sword of the Samurai. It features a character creation feature and over 100 detailed swords to choose from. Published by Ubisoft. It was not released in North America.

Way of the Samurai, known in Japan as Samurai (侍), is a PlayStation 2 action-adventure game developed by Acquire and released in 2002.. Set in 19th century Japan, the player takes on the role of a rōnin who wanders into a remote village and becomes involved in a conflict between rival clans.
Losing random encounters strips the sword of that school from the character. Both the life and Ki bars are able to be hidden from battle, and a wounded character has their status displayed during battle. Offense uses four "stances" as well as one special move. This special move is not always available if the wrong sword is equipped.
