The UK's examination boards sometimes work together. For example, they sometimes offer qualifications jointly or share training materials for common parts of specifications. The JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) is a common voice for UK exam boards. The JCQ is made up of AQA, CCEA, City & Guilds, Edexcel, OCR, SQA and WJEC.
AQA Education, [1] trading as AQA (formerly the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance), is an awarding body in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It compiles specifications and holds examinations in various subjects at GCSE, AS and A Level and offers vocational qualifications. AQA is a registered charity and independent of the government.
The last session for January Exams is January 2023 (Academic Year September 2022 to August 2023) and the first session for November Exams is November 2023 (Academic Year September 2023 to August 2024). [8] The exams are set by Edexcel which also sets GCSE exams in the UK. [9]
The JCQ provides rules and regulations concerning the exams. These are updated annually and published on the JCQ website. British examination boards for GCSEs and GCE A-levels (i.e. AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, CCEA) are obliged to comply with JCQ's regulations, whereas Cambridge International are not obliged to comply with them for their international GCSEs.

Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations [2] (OCR) is an examination board which sets examinations and awards qualifications (including GCSEs and A-levels).It is one of England, Wales and Northern Ireland's five main examination boards.
In 1997, [2] the AEB entered into an alliance with two other exam boards, NEAB and City & Guilds, known as the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance (AQA). [2] The 1998 examination certificates featured just the AQA name. By 1999, examination papers were dual-branded with both the AQA and AEB or SEG names.
