This too was a parody of the new mid-80s Crossroads opening theme and titles sequences at the time, complete with the use of vertical blinds to reveal the show's title as the blinds closed (naturally, the Acorn Antiques version did not work and had to be pushed by a stagehand). The end credits referred to "Victoria Woods" [sic].
In the visuals, the letters of the title slowly passed by, with the four seasons illustrated inside the letters, an ode to the original poem written by As The World Turns creator Irna Phillips. When the visual reached the O in WORLD, a spinning globe fell into its place and the whole title was zoomed out of focus, to be seen by the audience.
Texas was also the first daytime soap opera to air hour-long episodes from its inception, as all the other hour-long soaps airing at the time had expanded from 30 minutes.
