George Tupou V [a] (Siaosi Tāufaʻāhau Manumataongo Tukuʻaho Tupou; 4 May 1948 – 18 March 2012) was King of Tonga from 2006 to his death in 2012. He was the eldest son of King Tāufaʻāhau Tupou IV .

The King George Tupou V Family Order was established by His Majesty George Tupou V, The King of Tonga. The Order was established by King George in 2008 upon his accession to the throne, following the death of his father, King Tāufaʻāhau Tupou IV. King George modelled his Royal Family Order after those established by the British Sovereigns.

Tupou VI (ʻAho‘eitu ʻUnuakiʻotonga Tukuʻaho; born 12 July 1959) is the current King of Tonga. The future Tupou VI was born at Tonga's Royal Palace as the youngest child of the Crown Prince and Crown Princess, later King Tāufaʻāhau Tupou IV and Queen Halaevalu. He was named ʻAho‘eitu at birth.

The Royal Order of the Phoenix is an order of knighthood of the Kingdom of Tonga. History. The order was founded by King George Tupou V on 1 August 2010. [1] [2] [3]
In 1967 Tonga crowned king Tāufaʻāhau Tupou IV, while George Tupou V was crowned in 2008 and Tupou VI in 2015. All rulers participated in elaborate ceremonies complete with a large gold crown, sceptre, and throne.
