North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre as seen from the south. The venue features 9,468 chair-back seats and 10,024 lawn seats. During the spring, summer and fall months it is used mostly for first-tier concert tours, due primarily to its capacity.
The venue was built in 1980, funded by four local private investors under the Irvine Meadows Partnership. Providing 10,418 reserved seats, and 5,667 on the lawn seating, the outdoor arena was the largest amphitheater in Orange County until its final closure. The architecture was designed by Gin Wong Associates, based in Los Angeles.

The sole interchange for Port Orange is at Exit 256, also known as Florida State Road 421 (see below). US 1 (SR 5 / Ridgewood Avenue) is the main local road through Port Orange, running north–south. It served as the main north–south highway in the state and the eastern half of the county until I-95 was built.
