Helen's Restaurant is a diner in Machias, Maine, United States. It was established in 1950. [1] It is known for wild Maine blueberry pie. [2] In July 2014, the restaurant burned down. [3] The building was rebuilt and reopened in 2015. [4]

Newcastle is a town in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. The population was 1,848 at the 2020 census. [2] The village of Newcastle is located in the eastern part of the town, [3] on the Damariscotta River. Together with the village of Damariscotta linked by the Main Street bridge, they form the Twin Villages (see Damariscotta-Newcastle CDP).
The restaurant is considered a midcoast Maine landmark. It has been profiled in numerous magazine and newspaper reviews, Internet reviews, and television features. One of the owners of the restaurant, Debbie Cronk, co-wrote a book with Virginia Wright called Red’s Eats: World’s Best Lobster Shack.
