Dunn is the most populous city of Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 8,446 at the 2020 census . [ 4 ] It is, along with Harnett County, part of the Anderson Creek , NC Micropolitan Statistical Area , which is also included in the Raleigh-Durham-Cary , NC Combined Statistical Area .
Notable buildings include the Fitchett Drug Store (c. 1912), Cottondale Hotel (1924), Fleishman Brothers Company building (c. 1925), Prince's Department Store Building (c. 1930), Christo-Cola Bottling Works Building (c. 1913), White Way Theater Building (c. 1904), Johnson Cotton Company Building (c. 1925), and (former) Dunn Post Office (1937).
The company currently operates out of Charlotte, North Carolina, but is no longer a race team. Holman-Moody continues to manufacture racing vehicles using vintage parts and methods, along with special editions of modern Ford sports cars. [1] The race team built virtually all of the factory Ford racing vehicles of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. [2]
In 1991 and 1992, Gordon began racing in the Busch Series full-time, driving Ford Thunderbirds for Bill Davis Racing. In his first year as a Busch driver he won Rookie of the Year. In 1992, Gordon set a NASCAR record by capturing 11 poles in one season. [16] He was sponsored by Carolina Ford Dealers in 1991 and Baby Ruth in 1992. [28]
