Homies are a series of two-inch plastic collectible figurines representing various Chicano Mexican American characters. The line of toys was created by David Gonzales [ 1 ] and based on a comic strip that Gonzales created [ 2 ] featuring a cast of characters from his youth. [ 3 ]
The toys were widely popular, with the first series selling a million Homies figures in four months. [4] Gonzales claims that after he re-invented the Homies characters, police representatives have introduced themselves at public functions and individual police officers have even ordered Homies figures from him personally.
