The Eparchy of Mississauga was first erected as an Apostolic Exarchate by His Holiness Pope Francis in 2015, and was elevated to the rank of Eparchy in 2018. It comprises 72 parishes, which include both churches and missions, with churches or missions in all the provinces of Canada, and one territory.
The church is built in the Byzantine style, traditional for Orthodox churches. It has three rows for choirs and a hand-made iconostasis. The main part of the church is a squared cross with only one cupola above the central part of the church. The altar was painted by the iconographer Dragomir "Dragan" Marunić. [2]
