Rowneybury House / ˈ r aʊ n i b ər i / is a house in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, England. The property on which Rowneybury stands was part of Pishiobury before being divided in the 1880s. [1] It was owned by Hertfordshire County Council and used as a home for children with disabilities.

Ashridge is a country estate and stately home in Hertfordshire, England. It is situated in the Chiltern Hills , an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty , about 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Berkhamsted and 23 miles (37 km) north west of London.
John Hodgson (1805-1882) built Gilston Park House in about 1852. He bought the property on which a very old house stood and demolished it leaving only the porch which is still present today. [3] John was a very wealthy land owner who held numerous properties in various counties as well as a house in Hyde Park, London.
It is the largest property in the village of Aldbury, Hertfordshire. Stocks House and its manorial farm is an 182-acre (0.74 km 2) estate surrounded by 10,000 acres (40 km 2) of National Trust Ashridge Forest and the Chiltern Hills. It takes its name from the old famous stocks of the medieval village of Aldbury just down the road.
The Lomax family bought the house in 1666 and lived there until 1854 when Joshua Lomax sold it to Henry Hayman Toulmin, a wealthy ship owner, High Sheriff of Hertfordshire and mayor of St Albans. Toulmin left the property to Sir John Blundell Maple around 20 years later.
