Full-time students have the opportunity to try out for intercollegiate sports. Central Maine Community College offers baseball and women's softball in the fall and men's and women's basketball in the winter. All of the teams participate in the USCAA. The college was organized in 1969 by the 104th Maine Legislature and its first classes began in fall 1970, with 35 full-time and 131 part-time students.
