Stonewall Saloon or The Museum of the Stonewall Saloon is an authentic western saloon located in Saint Jo, Texas. [1] The tavern was named as acknowledgment of Stonewall Jackson as American Civil War exiles appealed for sanctuary in what was termed " Indian country ."
Stonewall is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Gillespie County, Texas, United States. The population was 451 at the 2020 census . It was named for Confederate General Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson , by Israel P. Nunez, who established a stage station near the site in 1870.
The cost is shared equally between Travel Texas, which covers 50 percent of the expense, and the visitor bureaus of the participating cities, which collectively contribute the remaining 50 percent. [6] There are 15 restaurants in Texas with a Michelin-star rating, all receiving one star with no two or three star awards being issued.
