The Grand Valley State Lakers are the intercollegiate athletic teams of Grand Valley State University, located in Allendale, Michigan, United States. [1] The GVSU Lakers compete at the NCAA Division II level and are members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Jonker was formerly an assistant softball coach at Grand Valley State University and head coach at West Ottawa High School. CMU's Margo Jonker stadium is named after her. At the 2000 Olympics she served as an assistant coach on the United States Olympic softball team that captured the gold medal in Sydney, Australia. [2]
GVSU led 30-0 at halftime. It was the program’s biggest shutout since 1989 when they beat Valparaiso 91-0. The Lakers wore vintage powder blue jerseys, too.
