Universidad San Sebastián (USS, St. Sebastian University) is a private autonomous Chilean university with its headquarters situated in Santiago de Chile. It is also located in Concepción (its previous headquarters), Valdivia, Osorno and Puerto Montt. It was founded in 1989, and later in 2001, USS gets a formal state recognition as University. [1]
Thus, when Franco's armies entered Bilbao on the 19th of June 1937, the fledgling university was shut down. It was not until 1968 that another university in the Basque region was founded. In this year, the University of Bilbao was opened. In 1972, the Leioa premises were finished. They were in a remote place among cultivated fields.

In 1960 this body was named EUG, and in 1963 the first stone of EUTG, University and Technical Studies of Guipúzcoa was laid. During 1979, the Faculty of Economic and Business Studies-ESTE became a faculty dependent on UD and in 1990, the legal and real union of the San Sebastian centre took place as a second campus of the University of Deusto.
The School of Engineering at San Sebastián, also known as TECNUN, is the technological campus of the University of Navarra. The School of Engineering offers numerous degrees in engineering at its two campuses in the city of Donostia-San Sebastián. The school is currently led by professor Raúl Antón.

The San Sebastian Stags basketball program represents San Sebastian College – Recoletos (SSC-R) in men's basketball as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) (NCAA). The San Sebastian Stags jointly own the longest championship streak in seniors' basketball, winning five straight titles from 1993 to 1997.
