As for moving SmartSwitch folders. You can do two things: 1. Just manually cut and move them somewhere, like an external hard drive. This would work, however to access them for restore you have to cut and move them back to the default directory. 2. Go to SmartSwitch>More>Preferences>Backup folder location>change.
Smart Switch will copy all of your data, apps, settings, texts, photos, etc. Even your home screen (s) set up, your wallpaper, even such things as internet bookmarks that you may have on your home screen. It takes a little while for it to copy everything, but just wait until it tells you that it's done. TheMiz and lgossin.

Some of the backups were used successfully before to restore to my Samsung devices but now they are greyed out.

I want to back up my S4 to my PC using Samsung Smart Switch, but it won't back up the photos and videos on my SD card because "Videos (sic) files are hidden by a photo/video locking app, and will not be backed up. Unhide the files before backing up." I really don't know what is hiding the photos and videos.
Oct 28, 2019. #1. When I open Smart Switch, it says an update to the app is available. It says downloading, but the download never starts. I have a good wifi connection and I also tried using data. I uninstalled the app and downloaded the latest version in the play store. Upon opening, it still said an update was available.
