Robert Fuller Murray (1863–1894), was a Victorian poet. Although born in the United States, Murray lived most of his life in the United Kingdom, most notably in St Andrews , Scotland. He wrote two books of poetry and was published occasionally in periodicals.
He then produced three audio tapes of his poems "The Canniest Place on Earth", "Ridin' High" and "The Lang Pack", and eventually, in 1994, he published the whole in a book Canny Bit Verse, [1] illustrated by local poet/illustrator and neighbouring farmer Henry Brewis. Both Robert Allen and his wife died in the early 2000s. [2]

After college, Greenfield began writing poetry and songs in the 1950s while working in a civil service job. In 1962, after years of submitting her work, her first poem was finally accepted for publication.
