Upon showing this example to the group (as it is the closest to what we're after), some editors pointed out that it's non-standard in the way that rows start in the table's second cell (the title) rather than the first (year).

To do so with multiple columns click the top left non-column-header cell, and then shift-click the bottom right cell. When you click on "ascending" or "descending" in the data menu the table will be sorted alphabetically. That is the default.
