Earl D. Plumlee (born April 6, 1980) [1] is a retired master sergeant in the United States Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions in Afghanistan that took place on 28 August 2013 and presented to him by President Joe Biden on December 16, 2021; [ 2 ] awarded the same day, posthumously, were Alwyn Cashe and Christopher Celiz .

Liberty Station is a mixed-use development in San Diego, California, on the site of the former Naval Training Center San Diego. [1] It is located in the Point Loma community of San Diego. It has a waterfront location, on a boat channel off San Diego Bay , just west of San Diego International Airport and a few miles north of downtown San Diego .
The camp was established by the Army in 1917 on 12,721 acres (51.48 km 2) of land on a mesa north of San Diego. [1] [2] The area included the 2,130-acre (8.6 km 2) Miramar Ranch, which had originally been established by newspaperman E. W. Scripps and later sold to the Jessop family. [3]

Camp Callan was a United States Army anti-aircraft artillery replacement training center that was operational during World War II. It was located on the southern West Coast of the United States, in the La Jolla community of San Diego, California. The facility was closed shortly after the war ended and few traces of the base remain.
