Daranak Falls came from the Tagalog word "Dadanak"which means "to flow", shortened form of "Dumaranak". The latter word was used to describe the flowing water of the falls. Runnels County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 9,900. [1] Its county seat is Ballinger. [2] The county was created in 1858 and later organized in 1880. [3] It is named for Hiram G. Runnels, a Texas state legislator.
