Barrett-Jackson is an American collector car auction company headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was founded by Scottsdale business partners Tom Barrett and Russ Jackson. They initially launched a car show, Fiesta de los Autos Elegantes, in 1967 to raise money for local facilities.
The sale, to a private buyer, was for 135 million euros ($142,769,250). It handily outstripped the previous record-setting $48.4-million sale of a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO at a 2018 auction to become the most expensive car ever sold at auction. Both of these high-dollar sales were brokered by RM Sotheby's. [1]
On November 29, 2012, Barris Kustom and George Barris announced the sale of the Number 1 Batmobile at the Barrett-Jackson car show and auction held in Scottsdale, Arizona. The world-famous vehicle went on the auction block, on January 19, 2013.
According to Barrett-Jackson officials, prior to Hagar's sale the highest price paid for a 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari was $3,910,000 in August 2022 at Broad Arrow Group Auctions.
In its only South Florida stop, Barrett-Jackson brings more than 600 vehicles and 'automobilia' to Palm Beach County fairgrounds. Bid on rare cars or just visit.
