Kalamazoo ( / ˌkæləməˈzuː / KAL-ə-mə-ZOO) is a city in and the county seat of Kalamazoo County, Michigan, United States. At the 2020 census, Kalamazoo had a population of 73,598. It is the principal city of the Kalamazoo–Portage metropolitan area in southwestern Michigan, which had a population of 261,670 in 2020.
The most populous neighborhood in Kalamazoo, Edison is located on the east side of the city. It is home to the bulk of the city's Hispanic population. Four of the city's parks are located in the Edison neighborhood, including the Mayor's Riverfront Park, where the Kalamazoo Growlers and Kalamazoo Kingdom sports teams play.
