Clayton State University is a public university in Morrow, Georgia, United States. It serves Metro Atlanta and is part of the University System of Georgia . The main campus includes 192 acres (0.78 km 2 ) of wooded grounds and five lakes.
Ida Jean Orlando (August 12, 1926 – November 28, 2007) was an American nurse whose theory has significant relevance for nursing in many countries worldwide. [1] Orlando graduated as a nurse from New York Medical College in 1947.
From 1955 to 1956 she was a pediatric nursing advisor at the Christian Medical College School of Nursing in Vellore, South India. Here, she assisted in the developing of a baccalaureate program of Nursing. [3] In 1959, she introduced the concept of nursing diagnosis to differentiate the work of nursing from medicine.
Nursing theory is defined as "a creative and conscientious structuring of ideas that project a tentative, purposeful, and systematic view of phenomena". [1] Through systematic inquiry, whether in nursing research or practice, nurses are able to develop knowledge relevant to improving the care of patients.
