Star City is a 35,000 m 2 (380,000 sq ft) amusement park in Pasay, Philippines. It is located in the reclaimed area of the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex , part of Bay City . The facility is owned by Star Parks Corporation, a subsidiary of Elizalde Holdings Corporation (the holding company of the FJE Group of Companies).
The Aliw Theater was built in 2002 as a gift of businessman Fred J. Elizalde to his ballerina wife, Lisa Macuja-Elizalde. [2] [3] The theater was personally designed by Fred Elizalde and is owned by Star Parks Corporation, which is also the owner and developer of the adjacent Star City amusement park.
It features several brutalist structures designed in the 1960s and 1970s by Leandro Locsin, such as the Tanghalang Pambansa, the Philippine International Convention Center, and the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. Other landmarks in the complex include the Coconut Palace, the Manila Film Center, Star City amusement park, and Harbour Square. [2]
