Jim Shockey (born 1957) is a Canadian outdoor writer, a professional big game outfitter and television producer and host for many hunting shows. Shockey is the former producer and host of Jim Shockey's Hunting Adventures and Jim Shockey's Uncharted on Outdoor Channel and Jim Shockey's The Professionals on Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel.

Fogo Island is connected to mainland Newfoundland by the ferry MV Veteran, and is served by the Fogo Aerodrome airport. The primary roads on the island are Route 333 (Fogo Island Road) and Route 334 (Joe Batt’s Arm Road) , as well as Deep Bay Road and Island Harbour Road.
The island had a school, two churches, cemeteries, and a wood mill. Moose and caribou can be found on the island. The west side of the island is lush and wooded, while the east side is rocky and barren. Fewer than ten summer cottages are still maintained on the island, most owned by families of the original Sop's Island natives.
Blaketown was named after Sir Henry Arthur Blake, Governor of Newfoundland (1887–1889), was settled in 1888 as an agricultural district. Thirty two families from the Conception Bay communities of Upper Island Cove, Bishops Cove, Spaniards Bay and Bay Roberts settled along the Dildo Agricultural Road, a stretch of road between South Dildo and Whitbourne.
