Juniata College (/ ˌ dʒ uː n i ˈ æ t ə /) [4] is a private liberal arts college in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1876 as a co-educational normal school , it was the first college started by members of the Church of the Brethren .
The Juniata County School District previously consisted of nine elementary schools, one junior high school, and two high schools. In the 2006–2007 school year, there were 3,123 students in the school district. The largest high school in the district is the Juniata High School, with 637 students.
Juniata County high school students may choose to attend Mifflin-Juniata Career and Technology Center for training in the construction and mechanical trades. The district also operates one middle school – Tuscarora Junior High School – and two elementary schools Juniata Elementary and East Juniata Elementary.
The school also sends students to the regional career & technology center, used by other three school districts in Huntingdon County. East Juniata Junior/Senior High School is a diminutive, rural, combined middle school and high school. It is one of two secondary campuses in the Juniata County School District. The school is located along Route 35 in Fayette Township. In the 2016–2017 school year, the school reported an enrollment of 514 pupils in grades 7th through 12th. [1]
