Student journalism at then-Wheeling College began on November 22, 1955 with the first publication of The Spokesman. [1] The paper ceased publication in 1980, and began again as Nova in 1982. The newspaper continued under this name until 1989, when the name switched back to The Spokesman. [ 2 ]
