easy path to bad dme/ecu fix I had success getting just an ECU/DME and matching EWS from salvage yard in Phoenix. Less than $50. Then I get an uncut EWS key from Ebay for $12. Remove swap out my ESW/DME with salvage yard units. Swap the transponder/remote unit in my BMW key fob with new one from ebay. Use AK90+ to program the new transponder.

I was planning to suggest that they find a refurb or repair for the DME, hence my question about ECU-PRO. (further back in the story, the BMW SA texted me the codes at that time, and BMW wanted to replace all 6 injectors because the information they had of the ISTA codes on 4 of the injectors: 140001 and 140010. 140101 and 140110.
You should be able to do with other Scanners that have the special communications box to the OBD2. I have a TopDon Phoenix Smart scanner and it works. Make sure you hook up power supply too, you need that always on clearing and coding the 750li. Takes a while and if you have low battery it wont work.

Remove the connection for the eccentric sensor and turn the ignition on. The DME will go into fail safe mode and set the valvetronic to max lift position. You can probably hear the motor running if it's quite outside. Start the car, now the throttle body will be used.
a) make a TAL calculation using your original FA; b) the result should highlight many ECUs to be upgraded, if you use a newer PsdZData set. But you have to flash only the DME. It should work unless upgrading the whole car ECUs (but better upgrade all ECUs); c) make a TAL processing for your DME.
