The Historic Anderson House Hotel is a hotel and event venue in Wabasha, Minnesota, United States. The hotel opened in 1856 and was Minnesota's oldest continuously operating bed and breakfast inn west of the Mississippi River. Most of the furniture dates back to 1856 as well. [2] The building was expanded in 1887.
It is also said to be one of the most haunted cities in the country, with many haunted 19th century style house bed & breakfasts, including Congress Hall, the Emlen Physick Estate, Peter Shields Inn, and Southern Mansion (featured on Ghost Hunters).
The building operated as a bed and breakfast, from 1995 to 2011 when the owner and operator Sharon Gammell retired in 2011. The building sat vacant until 2016. [4] On March 24, 2018, the building reopened as a restaurant. By the end of 2018, the Thayer was again operating as a full-service hotel with a restaurant on the first floor.
