Cleveland Heights is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 45,312 at the 2020 census . One of Cleveland 's historic streetcar suburbs , it was founded as a village in 1903 and a city in 1921.
Kahlil Seren (born October 17, 1978) is an American politician, former local government advisor, and the first directly elected Mayor of Cleveland Heights, Ohio. [1] Before becoming Mayor, Seren served for ten years as a Policy Advisor for Cuyahoga County Council and six years as a Cleveland Heights City Council member.
In the decades around the turn of the century, as Cleveland's population soared from 160,000 in 1880 to almost 800,000 in 1920, [12] City Hospital saw major growth and a shift from an organization primarily serving the city's destitute to an institution providing medical care to all. It also became a robust training ground for doctors and nurses.
Some time in 1917 or early 1918, the voters of Cleveland Heights approved a $100,000 bond issue to extend Superior Road alongside the new parkland. [c] Planning for the improved road began in May 1918. [11] Cleveland Heights was booming: By 1924, the population of the city had soared to just over 30,000. [12]

Calhoun intended Euclid Heights to be a New England–style upper-income community of Protestants of Anglo-Saxon heritage. By 1892 the road was identified as Coventry Road in George F. Cram & Company's atlas of that year. The part of East Cleveland Township now known as Cleveland Heights became a hamlet in 1901, and then a village in 1903.
The county seat and most populous city is Cleveland. [6] As of the 2020 census , its population was 1,264,817, making it the second-most populous county in the state. [ 7 ]
The Cleveland Heights–University Heights City School District is a public school district based in University Heights, Ohio, United States. [1]The district enrolled 5,062 students as of January 10, 2020, [2] and covers most of Cleveland Heights, all of University Heights, and a small portion of South Euclid.
