Trane doesn't give away parts like most other brands they fight you on warranty but I've never heard of them asking for maintenance records. I will say most parts returned under warranty are not in fact bad so I do understand where trane is coming from but I wish they weren't such a pain in the neck to deal with.
My neighbor bought a Trane 19 seer heat pump about 2 years ago . They also bought the 10 year labor warranty . Well long story short something went crazy with the unit and they had to replace a part .
In truth, even on utility power there is a voltage drop, not enough to see the lights blink but enough to restart my cable box. I patched that problem with a UPS, but the real fix is to put a soft start on the Trane. Trane recognizes the need, hence their Geostart kit, primarily intended for off-grid applications, so says their literature.
part warranty would only cover any parts needed. so if its a spot on the copper line that can be brazed up, not really. unless you want to wait for $2.00 part to come in just to be trifling. condensor coil would be bigger issue, would be worth calling in warranty, but more labor involved. hopefully the tech would have sense to pump refer into ...
So, our heat pump starts running for a few then shuts off when in heat mode. It was blowing the breaker in the fuse box that controls the outside heat pump every time when running in AC mode when the thermostat shut it off & turned it back on. It wouldn't blow the breaker as long as it was running, but when it shut off & turned back on it would.
Wondering what thoughts you pros have about the XV18, XV19, and XV20i heat pumps from Trane. I'm going to get a pair of one of them, but having a tough time deciding. One system (upstairs) will be 2 ton and have electric backup heat and the other system (main level) will be 3 ton and have propane furnace backup heat. Space is not an issue.
The 12 year warranty on the XL18i is for the compressor as far as I know, parts and coil 10 years. Trane XL18i Air Conditioner Warranty The Trane XL18i is backed by a factory 10-year warranty on the outdoor coil and functional parts. The repair tech said that he has replaced over 20 capacitors in the past week. He had a stash on his truck. We paid the entire bill and then after he had left called the office back after we realized we were still in warranty. She called Trane and they honored the warranty. End of story.
Good afternoon, I just bought a Trane Heat pump XR17 4T 17SEER and during the install I saw that this unit doesn't come with a start capacitor. My former XR13 4T had one. When I asked the technician he said it wasn't needed however the schematic shows that you can have one as optional.
Certainly hard to beat their manufacturers warranty and the 12 year extended labor warranty is a nice thing. Only two manufacturers back their extended labor warranties that I’m aware of, York ( YorkCare ) and Daikin, ( Asure ) .
