A wrangler is one of the best light truck for plowing. Full latter frame, low range. If automatic, install a trans cooler. Use low range if heavy snow. If a jeep can ford its way accross thick mud, climb rocks and play in sand all day long, I do not see any problem using it to plow snow.
I have a 97 Wrangler 2.5l with 4" lift and a meyer plow, and it has been an unstoppable snow machine. even a little 4 cylinder has proved itself not to be lacking. the only real issue with a plow on a lifted jeep is the mounts. A blade needs to sit evenly on the ground and lifted jeeps lift the mount which changes the angle of the A arm.
I really wanted a new Bronco but the dealers would not negotiate price right now on an order and delivery dates are still unknown. So screw that. I was given a great price on my trade in as well as a good enough discount on the Jeep. I'm seriously thinking about putting a Snow-Way 7'6" 22 series plow on it as well as a Daniels 90" pull plow.
1) they are too light to effectively plow heavy snow 2) Putting a plow hitch will kill your front end 3) any light duty plow that could go on a jeep is about the same price as a used atv with a plow already on it. Hell, I bet you could find a old F150 with a plow for $5,000 or under
We used a pretty near commercial plow (around 4-500 lbs) and after all the gear and electrical it was around a 6-8 thousand dollar investment from what I can understand. A plow adds a lot of stress to the frame and the miles you put on are hard miles. This is the most important part about plowing with a jeep, you CANT do it on stock suspension.
I commented with some pictures on a prior thread, look under "Jeep Snow Plow." I used a K2 7 foot snowplow on my 2001 TJ. Worked well, but the weight really sagged the fronteand when raised. The plow hitches into a 2 inch receiver hitch on the front end. I have it set up now on my 2014 Unlimited Rubicon and it performed great so far this winter.

I had a meyer classic mount with a 6'-6" steel blade on a 98 4-cyl., 5 speed. It worked well and you can find the plow setups for sale in CL or FB marketplace for around $750 +/-. Be prepared for the jeep to take a nosedive when plow is raised. I sold the 98, and recently installed a SNOWEX LT 7200 on a 2018 JK 2-door. Plow and head unit weigh ...
