My Policeman is a 2022 British-American romantic drama film based on the 2012 novel by Bethan Roberts and directed by Michael Grandage. The film stars Harry Styles, Emma Corrin, Gina McKee, Linus Roache, David Dawson, and Rupert Everett. It is inspired by the relationship between the writer E. M. Forster and Bob Buckingham.
The novel is set in Brighton in 1957. Marion, a schoolteacher, falls in love with Tom Burgess, a policeman. Tom explores gay love with Patrick Hazelwood, a museum curator but, because of the social constraints of the era, Tom and Marion get married, even though Tom still has feelings for Patrick. [2]
