Waukesha South is one of three schools whose students participate in CORE 2062, a FIRST Robotics Competition team. The team won the Rookie All Star Award in 2007, the Wisconsin Regional (Milwaukee) in 2008, and the 10,000 Lakes Regional (Minneapolis) in 2010.
Two of the district's three high schools, Waukesha North and Waukesha South, showed declines. Waukesha North decreased from 1,172 students in 2017-18 to 1,015 students in 2022-23.

Silver Spring Intermediate School is a newly added addition to the growing Hamilton School District that now holds grades 5 and 6, with elementary schools serving students in 5K - grade 4. It was formally dedicated in a public ceremony on Aug. 26, 2019, on the school's grounds.
