US 82 slightly west of Hope. US 82 begins at an intersection with US highways 54 and 70 north of Alamogordo, and south of La Luz, New Mexico.Heading east out of Alamogordo the road quickly goes up into the Sacramento Mountains, traveling through the Lincoln National Forest.
La Luz Pottery Factory is a former factory in La Luz, New Mexico. The buildings, including three houses, an adobe warehouse and kiln, a clay processing plant, and storerooms, were built circa 1929. [2] The factory, founded by Rowland Hazard, made roof and floor tiles as well as pots until it closed down in 1942. [2]
