Demolition resumed in 2012. The Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority put the property for sale in July 2016 with one tower still standing. Erie County Medical Center purchased the property in 2017 and demolished the last tower in October 2018. As of 2025, a portion of the site is used by ECMC for parking.
The hotel now contains 92 one & two bedroom apartments, 57 hotel rooms, several bars, restaurants and banquet facilities. The renovation was conducted by Buffalo property developer Rocco Termini, along with architect Jonathan Morris and his team at Carmina Wood Morris PC.
In 2002, Ellicott Development Co. purchased the hotel with plans to redevelop the property into a luxury apartment building. Those plans were halted in late 2003 after a large section of roof collapsed during interior demolition work. The building again sat idle until 2013 when work resumed. The building now houses 42 market-rate apartments. [3]
