YES TV (Formally Youth TV) is the public service broadcasting Half-Day Teen and Sports TV channel of the Maldives. It was formed on 8 March 2016. the channel "YES" was described "Youth, Entertainment and Sports". The first incarnation of the channel was "Youth TV", a half-day television channel that airs in the evening which launched in late 2009.
Maldives Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) filed a lawsuit in Civil Court against Finance Ministry to procure assets, money, and employees of Television Maldives (TVM) and Voice of Maldives (VOM), at then rebranded to MNBC One and Raajje Radio. In late 2009, MNBC launched "Youth TV", a half-day television channel that airs in the evening.
Until 2008, the Maldives only had Television Maldives as its national broadcaster. Future TV, the first private television channel, launched on June 6, 2008, followed by DhiTV on July 1 and VTV on September 5. The introduction of private television came after restrictions on independent media in the country were lifted.
