In 1959, Baldwin constructed a new piano manufacturing plant in Conway, Arkansas, to manufacture upright pianos: by 1973, the company had built one million upright pianos. In 1961, Baldwin built a piano factory in Greenwood, Mississippi, and later moved production of upright pianos there from Cincinnati.
