Rowan University is a public research university in Glassboro, New Jersey, with a medical campus in Stratford and medical and academic campuses in Camden.Founded in 1923 as Glassboro Normal School on a 25-acre (10 ha) site donated by 107 residents, [9] the school was formerly known as Glassboro State College from 1958 until 1992 and Rowan College of New Jersey from 1992 to 1997.
The school was established under the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1976 by the New Jersey state legislature. Initial classes were held at what is now Robert Wood Johnson Medical School for its first two years until its campus was complete. The first class of 24 students began on September 7, 1977.

Reflecting long-term trends nationwide, the male-to-female ratio of students in the system is 41% male to 59% female, and 48% of students are over the age of 24.

In 2019, Cooper Medical School of Rowan University was voted one of the top ten most difficult medical schools to attain acceptance by incoming medical students in the US. [5] [6] In April 2019, CMSRU was named in U.S. News’ list of “10 Med Schools With the Lowest Acceptance Rates” [7]
This course considers the histories, theories, and practices of self-publishing and the do-it-yourself ethos behind such publications. We will use Wikipedia in the second unit as a group project (I anticipate 4 groups).
