If you are using Edge then when you access your mail there should be an icon in the right of the address bar that shows there is an app for this. If you use the app or even if you don't you should be able to pin it to the Taskbar when mail is open. Is that the sort of shortcut you wanted or are you looking for something on the Desktop?
I installed Windows 11 on my laptop and now when I try to sign into GMail from either my laptop (Windows 11) or my desktop (Windows 10) I am asked to add GMail to my Google account. When I try to do that with my existing GMail account it tells me that the account already exists, which it does.
1) What often works to fix the Mail app is to go to Windows 11 Mail Settings (gear icon at bottom of Inbox) then Manage Accounts, then choose the problem account(s), then Delete the Account. Restart PC and retrace that path to add the account back.
Regarding viewing your events in the taskbar calendar, this feature is not currently natively integrated into Windows 11.
