West Flanders [b] is the westernmost province of the Flemish Region, in Belgium.It is the only coastal Belgian province, facing the North Sea to the northwest. It has land borders with the Dutch province of Zeeland to the northeast, the Flemish province of East Flanders to the east, the Walloon province of Hainaut in the south and the French department of Nord to the west.
The Arrondissement of Kortrijk was created in 1800 as the fourth arrondissement in the Department of Lys (Dutch: Departement Leie).It originally comprised the cantons of Avelgem, Harelbeke, Ingelmunster, Kortrijk, Menen, Meulebeke, Moorsele, Oostrozebeke and Roeselare.

Zedelgem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈzeːdəlɣɛm]; West Flemish: Zillegem [ˈzɛləɦæm]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the villages of Aartrijke, Loppem, Veldegem and Zedelgem proper. On January 1, 2019, Zedelgem had a total population of 22,813.
