Fantastic Voyage is an American animated science fiction television series based on the famous 1966 film directed by Richard Fleischer. [1] The series consists of 17 half-hour episodes, airing Saturday mornings on ABC-TV from September 14, 1968, through January 4, 1969, then rebroadcast the following fall season.
The Astronut cartoons were originally produced by Terrytoons for theatrical distribution by 20th Century Fox from 1964 to 1966. Starting in 1966, the cartoons were solely made for television. The Beagles were different from The Beatles in that The Beagles were a duo rather than a quartet and both members were anthropomorphic dogs. Stringer (voiced by Sandy Becker impersonating Dean Martin), the tall one, played guitar, while Tubby (voiced by Allen Swift impersonating Jerry Lewis), short, fat and wearing spectacles, played stand-up bass.
