To fix 2-handed units you need to give them the same animation as Janissary Heavy Infantry. Never experienced this yet, but it seems AI diplomacy seems easier to accept each other mostly due sudden act of war while both faction region is in far distance to wage war, so they get to ceasefire in 2 turns after the war declared.
Infantry units do not all walk at the same speed. They definitely do not run at the same speed either. Medieval 2 would have followed at the actual Windows 10 public release date because they really are the same game. My computer can boot into any OS from my bootloader including DOS, OSX, Android, Linux, and every windows OS XP X64 and after.
