Joseph Wolfinger, Sr. (January 7, 1857 – August 17, 1941) was an American businessman, inventor, and politician. Born in the town of Wilson , Sheboygan County, Wisconsin , he learned the blacksmith trade and moved to Dundas , in the town of Woodville , Calumet County, Wisconsin in 1877.

Wolfinger emigrated and lived in the United States from 1881 to 1883. From 1885 to 1894 he was a member of the Balzers municipal council, and also deputy mayor of the municipality from 1891 to 1894.
