Lexington County started transitioning from paper mapping to a computerized Geographic Information System (GIS) in 1988. The GIS team is housed in the Planning & GIS Department. We provide the following services: Continually maintain and update existing GIS layers. Acquire and develop new datasets. Central repository for all County geographic data.
